ECA2030 is the interactive arena where the automotive community and policy makers meet and discuss about the next evolution cycles, technology gaps and limits of today ́s technologies in order to pave the way for the Electric, Connected, Automated car for the 2030 customer (ECA-cars).

In 2030, the electric, connected and automated car will become Mainstream. On a global scale, today ́s yearly manufacturing volume of more than 80 Mio conventional cars will contain a share of estimated 40 Mio ECA-cars in 2030, which have to be produced in a sustainable way.

As a consequence of this disruptive change, we need to define not only the needed technology basis, but also to identify possible gaps to gain and keep the sovereignty and the IP to build our cars in and for Europe.

The new ECA2030 event in Turin will be principally focused on the “human centric design approach”, which has gradually gained importance in Europe in the last years. This approach will be analysed and discussed by experts coming from different scientific disciplines (e.g. engineering, medical, etc.).

We will discuss how new technologies will address relevant societal challenges, such as aging population and urbanisation, with the aim of improving the quality of life of European citizens.

Roadmaping Workshop for Human Centered Mobility at Centro Cultural Andratx 30/31.01.2018

ECA2030 was a 2 day roadmap workshop where discussions about next evolution cycles and technology gaps to pave the way for electric, connected and automated car for the 2030 customer (ECA-cars) took place. During the event speakers from H2020 and ECSEL projects AutoDrive, 3Ccar, OSEM-EV, SilverStream, STEVE, PRYSTINE, EMC2, CRYSTAL, eDAS, Luftstrom, ENABLE S3, DEMOBASE were asked to share their innovative views and stimulate a new way of thinking, which will lead us to the revolution of mobility.

Advancing fail-aware, fail-safe, and fail-operational electronic components, systems, and architectures for highly and fully automated driving to make future mobility safer, more efficient, affordable, and end-user acceptable.

 

AutoDrive will provide fail-aware, fail-safe, and fail-operational integrated electronic components, Electrical/Electronic (E/E) architectures as well as (deeply) embedded software systems for highly and fully automated driving to make future mobility safer, more efficient, affordable, and end-user acceptable. Advancing towards fail-operational systems will require increased reliability and availability of components, new redundancy schemes as well as architectures, and methodologies to appropriately manage and balance complexity, cost, robustness, and flexibility. A holistic perspective, from electronics to systems will be necessary to take this step in automated vehicles.

  • Increased stability, reliability, robustness, and functional safety of automated driving systems through fail-aware, fail-safe, fail-operational semiconductor-based components and systems
  • Increased active safety (e.g. collision avoidance) due to predictive, cooperative and smart sensor/actuator control

1st Place at EFECS 2017

5 - 7th December 2017, Brussles - Belgium


3ccar and Autodrive received the 1st Place Award at EFECS 2017 the second year in a row. The EFECS 2017, themed ‘Our Digital Future’, is a brand-new international forum supporting the Electronic Components and Systems (ECS) value chain in Europe. The European Forum for Electronic Components and Systems 2017 (EFECS) is abrand new event and a successor to the European Nanoelectronics Forum & the ARTEMIS technology Conference. It is jointly organised by the European Commission (DG CONNECT), the industry associations AENEAS, ARTEMIS-IA and EPoSS and the ECSEL Joint Undertaking.

Kick-Off!

The project AutoDrive has started with the celebration of a two day kick-off meeting which took place on June 7 th -8 th, 2017, in parallel with the GreenCities 2017 Forum in Málaga.

 

The kick-off was inaugurated by the project coordinator Mr. Reiner John (IFAG) and Mr. Jaime Briales Guerrero (Ayuntamiento Málaga). A special guest of the kick-off was Executive Director of the ECSEL JU Mr. Bert De Colvenaer. WP Leaders presented the planning of their work packages for the first year of the project.
Supply Chain Leaders gave thought-provoking overviews of the key issues related to technology areas. Main objectives of the meeting were to set the official start of the project, to establish connections between all partners, to provide clarifications about administrative aspects, and to define the specific work that each participant is going to fulfil during the project lifetime.
